Boro add Boylan in shock move

After snapping up Iyseden Christie yesterday from Kidderminster, Boro have added yet another striker today after clinching a deal to bring Lee Boylan back to Broadhall Way. This brings the current number of strikers at Boro up to 8 if you include youngsters Elliot Buchanan and Jerome Anderson plus Steve Morison who surely is halfway up the A1(M) by now. Boylan re-joins Boro after a short spell at the club back in 2001. Since then he has become a prolific scorer in this division with Canvey Island and Cambridge.
Boro though have again splashed the cash to try and push for promotion this season. Most of the players that have come in are good, established Conference players that their previous clubs did not want to part company with. Also most of the deals have come with a “mega offer” tagline. Some clubs at the moment can’t seem to compete with the spending power of Stevenage. This makes you wonder if GW has put his own money into the club or whether the two new board members have funded any wages/transfer fees that have occured this summer.
The two new signings more or less confirm that Steve Morison will not be at the club next season. If he remains at BHW then GW may have a bit of selection dilemma on his hands come August. Morison looks likely to be moving to League 1 with Crewe the favourite at the moment. Crewe also look likely to be adding ex-Stevenage striker Anthony Elding to their ranks after they agreed a fee with Leeds. Elding hasn’t settled at Elland Road after moving there from Stockport in January.
