Hereford’s Edgar Street is quite a unique ground in modern day football. It’s been home to the Bulls since 1924 and it certainly looks its age. The ground is located in the heart of the city of Hereford and is adjacent to the cattle market. I first visited the ground in 1995 when I was just 8. Stevenage drew the Division 3 side in the FA Cup. Boro went ahead thanks to a goal from Gary Crawshaw, but Hereford hit back with 2 goals to win the tie.
Away supporters are allocated a section of the Cargill Stand. It’s a two tiered structure that has seats at the top and terracing below. The facilities are basic to say the least. The view to the pitch is good, but that is about it. The club have been forced to close the Blackfriars End in recent years, but they have recently installed two temporary seated stands to increase the capacity in that end.
Opposite the Cargill Stand is the Merton Stand. This is the main stand of the ground and where the dugouts and tunnel are located. It’s another seated stand and has a capacity of approximately 1,818. There are also a number of the club’s offices within this stand. That is why you can see windows at pitch level, either side of the dugouts.
The Meadow End is where a lot of the Hereford fans congregate. It’s identical to the Blackfriars End, but is still in use in its original state. It has a capacity of just over 2,000, but according to Wikipedia. there have been signs of decay and it could soon follow the Blackfriars End in being closed down for health and safety reasons.

At the roundabout take the first exit on to the A4440. Follow this until you reach a roundabout for the A4103, signposted Hereford.
Follow this road for about 22 miles. At the roundabout for the A49, take the first exit going into Hereford. The ground will appear on the right after about a mile.

To get to Edgar Street from the station, make your way down Commercial Road turning right at the bottom onto Blueschool Street. Turn right on Widemarsh Street and then left on to Blackfriars Street. The ground will be on the left.
