Wilson was another one of Mark Stimson’s signings late on in August 2007 as the former Boro boss finished off his squad for the 2007/2008 season. Wilson can play both wing back and right midfield and offers the squad versatility. He was used sparingly by Stimson, but after Barry Fuller departed for Gillingham in January he became the clubs first choice right back.

Wilson stayed at Broadhall Way against the odds in the 2008/2009 season and became an important member of Graham Westley’s squad as they pushed for the play-offs. He began the 2009/2010 season in great form and was easily the club’s best player at the start of the campaign. Unfortunately though Wilson suffered a career threatening injury in August 2009, breaking his leg against Rushden & Diamonds.

However, against the odds, Wilson came back from injury in time to make the end of season run in as Boro pushed for the title. A superb volley against AFC Wimbledon will be remembered for quite some time and he finished off his season in good form, showing that he has recovered well. He’s grown up a lot under Westley and there is still a lot of scope for further improvement in the football league.
