Graham Westley appointed Ali as the Stevenage goalkeeping coach in the summer of 2008. Uzunhasanoglu had a previous spell at Cambridge United where he coached Lionel Perez, John Ruddy and Shaun Marshall, who had a spell on loan at Boro a few years ago. Ali was also the reserve coach at the club, but was made redundant at the Abbey Stadium after then manager Steve Thompson was sacked when the U’s were relegated into the Conference. To be honest I’ve never known a Goalkeeping coach who can’t kick straight or catch!
